Craig Shield Trials 2026

The Balwyn Cricket Club is now taking player nominations for our U15 Youth Development Program, which includes our Victorian Sub District Cricket Association (VSDCA) Craig Shield Team.

To be eligible, players must be:

• Under 15 as of 1st Sep 2026 (ideally 14 yrs old or turning 14 before the Craig Shield - no under 12s),

• Able to train on Monday nights (fortnightly) at Gordon Barnard Reserve in Balwyn from 5:45 pm,

• Available to play in our U15A team (ISEC Sunday morning turf comp),

• Available to play in the VSDCA U15 Craig Shield Carnival, which is played in the first 3 weeks of January 2027.

To try out for the squad, players must complete 3 sessions (stage 1) as per the schedule below.

A select group of players will then be invited to attend the 4th session (stage 2).

Following this, 15 players will be invited to join our program.

The cost to participate in trials (3 sessions) is $30 per player: payable here before the 1st session

DETAILS

Dates: Tuesday 7th, 14th & 21st July 2026

Time: Arrive by 7:15pm for a 7:30pm start (1 hour session)

Location: Saxon Indoor Sports, Croydon

What to wear: Current cricket club training gear

What to bring: full kit
