Clint Kennon 300 games

Our club coach and Balwyn CC Life Member Clint 'Bull' Kennon plays his 300th game on Saturday!

Clint’s career is well decorated both on and off the pitch at Balwyn. As a player he has achieved so much and has hopefully more to tick off including another Premiership in the next few weeks. A shrewd and accurate off-spin bowler Clint has taken 396 wickets with an economy of 2.7 and an average of 19. Clint’s bowling and accuracy has always been a hallmark of his game and to have that sort of a record as a spin bowler says a lot about his talent and competitiveness. As a batsman he has made over 2,500 runs with 6 half centuries which have always been at crucial times and often game winning/saving. And add to that 73 catches in the field.

The stats tell a tale of a terrific player who has been consistent and won 5 bowling awards across the First XI, Second XI and Third XI to go with a batting award in the Third XI as well as 2 x Bud Walder Medals and Provan Trophies. What the stats don’t tell you is the way Clint has played his cricket at Balwyn and how great of a teammate he has been to so many. Clint is a terrific friend and mentor to so many people at Balwyn. He has been so instrumental in the development of younger players and pivotal in the enjoyment and success of older players.

Clint has been a long serving captain and is an excellent leader who backs his players and his teams have always had great success and a lot of fun. Clint plays the game hard and fair and is respected amongst all he has played with and against. Clint gets the best out of himself but more importantly everyone always walks taller when they take the field next to our Bull, there is no bigger compliment to outline the teammate Clint is.

After making his debut in 2000, Clint has been involved in the club for nearly 25 years and on behalf of all the playing group and past players – congratulations on a great career and go well on the weekend in the Finals.
